The Republic Day festivities in the Union Territory of Puducherry were marked by a spectacular display of various art forms during a vibrant procession held on Beach Road during the evening. Invited by the Department of Art and Culture, Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society participated the event with notable figures including Shri K. Lakshminarayanan, the Minister of Tourism, Shri P.R.N. Thirumurugan, Hon’ble Minister for Art & Culture, and Shri V. Kaliaperumal, Director of the Department of Art and Culture.

The program highlighted an array of artistic expressions that celebrate Puducherry’s rich heritage, featuring oldest martial arts, which combines physical techniques, weapon training, and acrobatics. Additionally, traditional dance forms like Bharatanatyam showcased expressive storytelling through intricate footwork and gestures captivated audiences with their lively movements and rhythmic beats. The unique cultural heritage of Pondicherry, Tamil traditions, and contemporary elements, offers a captivating and diverse artistic landscape. This land’s artistic legacy continues to thrive, inspiring generations through its multifaceted traditions.
