Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry was invited to attend the celebration of World Tourism Day on the theme ‘Tourism and Peace’ hosted by the Department of Tourism, Government of Puducherry on 27^th Sep, 2024. As we celebrated World Tourism Day, it was a great pleasure to let you know that the project Siddha Circuit was started by the Puducherry government. On September 27, 2024, Thiru K. Kailashnathan, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governon, Thiru N. Rangasamy, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Thiru R. Selvam, hon’ble Speaker, Thiru K. Lakshminarayanan, hon’ble Public works and Tourism Minister, Dr Sharat Chauhan, Chief Secretary, Dr Jayanta Kumar Ray, Secretary (Tourism) and Thiru K. Muralidharan, Director of Department of Tourism, launched the Siddha Circuit. Thank you so much the hon’ble Tourism Minister Thiru K. Lakshminarayanan ji for initiating beautiful projects for the promotion of Siddha heritage.

As part of the celebration, a number of programs on “Tourism and Peace” were planned. Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy was invited to speak at the event on the theme of “Tourism, Peace, and Sustainability.” Speaking at the occasion, he mentioned about the potential relationship between tourism and peace which fosters intercultural harmony and understanding. AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society also initiated a significant project on the “Siddha Tradition.” During the project’s initial phase, Siddha sites in Puducherry were documented. An international symposium on the Siddha legacy based on the project’s results in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture and the Department of Tourism, Government of Puducherry. In order to make the content available to those who are interested in this topic, development of a digital site/repository is under process. A submission was also given  by Sri Aurobindo Society to the Central and UT governments for the establishment of Siddha Circuit and the development of Siddha sites. It was a great pleasure that the Siddha Circuit was initiated by the Government of Puducherry.
