On the occasion of WORLD ART DAY, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society & Pyar Trust-Deepsthal Learning School, Union Territory of Puducherry organized ‘Art an Appreciation & Demonstration Program’ on the theme MUSIC & ART on 15th April, 2023. Artwork by students, the art of self-expression, interactive session and exhibition were part of the program.
Shri Praveen Kapur, Founder, Pyar Trust- Deepsthal Learning Centre, Puducherry presented the introductory remarks regarding the beauty of art and music along with quotes of the Mother ‘All and everything can be artistic if it is done in an artistic spirit.’ Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, Pondicherry said about the significance of World Art Day, which was recognized by UNESCO for the development, diffusion and enjoyment of art. He conveyed the message of Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO ‘This World Art Day is a timely reminder that art can unite and connect us even in the most difficult of circumstances. Indeed, the power of art to bring people together, to inspire, heal and share, has become increasingly clear during recent conflicts and crises, including COVID-19.’ He spoke about the vision of Maharshi Aurobindo and the Mother of Art. Dr. Rajendran, Founder of the Assist World Record Research Foundation attended the ceremony and shared his creative experiences on this occasion.
Charu Tripathy, Associate Director, AuroBharati, Shri Shankar, freelance educator, Integral Education and teachers from Deepsthal school guided the students for the art demonstration. Thirty-five students from the Deepsthal School participated in this celebration and made beautiful paintings focussing on nature, lifestyle, flora, fauna and creation etc. Further, a session on creative self-expression was organized where the students shared their imagination and creativity for making music and art. Students of Deepsthal school also performed musical offerings on this occasion.
