Department of Art & Culture, Government of Puducherry organized ‘Students Painting Workshop’ at Bharathiyar Memorial Museum & Research Centre, Puducherry on 25th November, 2023.
Inaugurating the workshop, Shri K. Lakshminarayan informed about the rich heritage of Tamil culture and emphasized on the significance art in human life. He informed about the wonderful platform to merge culture, creativity, and heritage while emphasizing the importance of preservation. Shri V. Kaliaperumal, Director, Art & Culture, Government of Puducherry said that the workshop focus on themes that reflect the local culture or heritage. Encourage participants to explore traditional art forms, symbols, or narratives in their paintings. This helps in preserving and celebrating the cultural richness of the community.
Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society attended the inaugural session with dignitaries from IGNCA and other academic institutions.
The workshop encouraged participants to blend traditional techniques with modern artistic approaches. This fusion can create unique artworks that honor heritage while expressing individual creativity. By intertwining culture, creativity, and heritage preservation within this painting workshop, participants discussed about the deeper appreciation for their heritage and the significance of preserving it for future generations.
