Bharatiya Jnana Parampara Conclave at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth

Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Puducherry hosted the “II Bharatiya Jnana Parampara Conclave” under the Indian Knowledge Systems Science Education and Research Academy (IKSSERA) on 14th October, 2024. Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society was invited to attend the event as Guest of honour.
Speaking on this occasion, prominent and renowned academician, researcher, medical educationist, and administrator Prof. N.R. Biswas, vice-chancellor of Sri Balaji Vidyapeth, emphasized the value of the rich legacy of Indian knowledge systems and its relevance to contemporary society. The science underlying the scriptures and its influence on sustainable health by fusing Indian knowledge systems with contemporary concepts in healthcare were discussed by Prof. Balanehru Subramanian, Director of the School of Biological Sciences at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth.
As part of the Bharatiya Jnana Parampara Conclave, Scientific discussion on Sustainable Health: Revelations from IKS on the topic “Internal Body Sounds” was organized which was chaired by Prof. A. R. Srinivasan, Registrar, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, SAS, Shri N.Egilane Lebel, Siddha Expert, Prof. Ananda Balayogi Bhavani, (Director and Professor Yoga Therapy at the Institute of Salutogenesis & Complementary Medicine of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth & Chairman ICYER at Pondicherry), Shri P Rajeswaran (Former Managing Director, Prosper Consultants Ltd.), Dr Gopal Jayraman, (Regional Director, IGNCA) shared valuable inputs on this subject.
In recognition of his “exemplary services rendered with diligence, devotion, commitment, and determination in taking forward the ethos of Indian Knowledge Systems,” Dr. Kishor Kumar Tripathy, Member Secretary, AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society, received the Lifetime Contributions to the Indian Knowledge Systems award. Through his affiliation with the Sri Aurobindo Society and the organizations under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India more than two decades, Dr. Tripathy has made contributions to the promotion of India’s magnificent cultural heritage, including documentation and preservation, policy development, community outreach, and sustainability.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tripathy stated that ancient Indians possessed extensive knowledge of a variety of topics and that science in ancient India was a broad and important subject that included a long history of discoveries, breakthroughs, and contributions in a wide range of subjects. In the context of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, he gave several examples from the scriptures on internal body sounds and how they affect physical, vital, mental, psychical, and spiritual growth.
