International Museum Day-2024

On the occasion of International Museum Day, Dr Kishor Kumar Tripathy and Charu Tripathy from AuroBharati, Sri Aurobindo Society visited several museums including Panipat Museum, Central Sikh Museum, State Museum Shilma, Government Museum Alwar and National Museum Delhi. Museums hold significant cultural, educational, and social value, serving as essential institutions in society for various reasons. Museums safeguard cultural heritage, preserving artifacts, artworks, and documents that represent a society’s history, traditions, and identity.
International Museum Day was organized by ICOM which represents a unique moment for the international museum community. The objective of International Museum Day (IMD) is to raise awareness about the fact that, “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.” This year’s theme for International Museum Day is “Museums for Education and Research”

International Museum Day supports a set of Goals from the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. This year the International Museum Day focused on
