The Renaissance Journal in collaboration with the Chair of Sri Aurobindo at Pondicherry University is starting a Sri Aurobindo Study Group. The objective of this study group is to facilitate the interested university students to engage directly with the works and vision of Sri Aurobindo.
The focus will be on books/book chapters on topics and themes of contemporary relevance, and more directly linked with the students’ areas of academic and professional interest. This will help them discover deeper insights into their chosen areas of study by engaging with the psycho-spiritual insights given by Sri Aurobindo on almost every aspect of life and area of human activity.
For the first edition of the study group, we are starting with Sri Aurobindo’s book ‘War and Self-determination’. Dr. Beloo Mehra, Editor, Renaissance Journal, Sri Aurobindo Society and Dr. Richa Tiwari, Chair of Sri Aurobindo, Pondicherry University are co-organizers of this study group. In addition to them, other facilitators will also be invited as facilitators for different meetings over the duration of the study group.
The group plans to meet once every two weeks for discussions on the assigned reading material. The timeline for the study group has been kept open-ended for now; tentatively 2 months have been designated to complete the study of the assigned book.. The first meeting is planned for November 17, 2023 at Pondicherry University.
