The Renaissance Journal and AuroPublications are happy to announce the launch of a new series of literary events titled SAMVĀD: A Series featuring Books, Authors & Booklovers.

For the first edition of the series happening on December 15, 2023, we have selected a historical fiction titled Rani Durgawati: The Forgotten Life of a Warrior Queen.  




Written by Pondicherry-based author Ms.Nandini Sengupta, and published by Penguin India, the book takes us to the world of Gond Rani Veerangana Durgawati, queen of the tribal kingdom of Garha Mandla, who ruled more than 450 years ago and died fighting for her dharma. Nandini Sengupta’s meticulously researched and accessibly written biography of this forgotten female hero and one of India’s most underrated monarchs is a must-read for all interested in Indian history and history makers.
